Make the sidebar wider, narrower, or hide it entirely for a focused view.

Steps
Resize
Drag the right edge of the sidebar to set its width. Step remembers it per Space.
Hide with ⌘\
Press ⌘\ to slide the sidebar off-screen. Press again to bring it back.
Compact mode
View → Compact sidebar shows icons only, with labels on hover. Good for small displays.
